Уоррена "All the king’s men" - 1946 г.; в основе лежат слова из английской народной детской песенки "Humpty Dumpty", популярной в России под названием "Шалтай-Болтай", пер. С. Маршака) "Des Königs ganzes Kriegsvolk" (Titel des Romans "All the king’s men" von R. Warren, dessen deutsche Übersetzung "Der Gouverneur" betitelt ist; zugrunde liegt eine Verszeile aus dem volkstümlichen englischen Kinderlied "Humpty Dumpty", das in S. Marschaks Übersetzung in Russland sehr beliebt geworden ist). In R. Warrens Roman wird der Kampf um den Sessel des Gouverneurs sowie um andere Posten in der Verwaltung eines Staates der USA geschildert. Mit den Worten Des Königs ganzes Kriegsvolk meint der Verfasser den "Tross" eines durchtriebenen Politikers, alle seine "rabanter". Der Ausdruck wird in der Presse in der Bedeutung diese ganze Clique verwendet.
